2026 CONFERENCE CALL FOR PROGRAM PROPOSALS

CALL FOR PROPOSALS deadline extended to Tuesday, February 24th, 2026 (see below)

The 2026 Annual Conference of the Northeast Association of Pre-Law Advisors will be held in Providence, Rhode Island, from June 8-10, 2026.  NAPLA is pleased to partner with Roger Williams University School of Law and the University of Massachusetts School of Law - Dartmouth as conference co-hosts.

NAPLA 2026 will offer the familiar combination of plenary sessions, 60-minute concurrent sessions, and smaller breakout sessions.  The Conference Planning Committee invites proposals from new and veteran members alike, including pre-law advisors, law school admissions officers and other pre-law advising partners.

To facilitate participation and a variety of contributions, we seek proposals for

  • full 60-minute concurrent session presentations; or
  • individual 15-minute presentations which the Planning Committee can place into a breakout session; or
  • pre-formed breakout panel sessions with a full roster of 15-minute presentations already placed on them

In terms of substance, NAPLA is especially interested in proposals about:

  • A.I. in law school admissions (both students' use ... and use by admissions offices);
  • health and wellness and/or professional development of NAPLA members;
  • how changes in financial aid are impacting scholarship offers; and
  • advising special populations (international students / law degrees, DACA students, re-applicants)

The Planning Committee also invites proposals on other industry relevant topics.

FEBRUARY 17 UPDATE:  We have already received many interesting submissions – and thank you to everyone who sent in a proposal! As enthusiastic as we are about the proposals we have already received, we would like to ensure that the program for NAPLA 2026 is substantively diverse.  Consequently, there are two “tracks” we have planned for the conference for which we are hoping to receive additional submissions, either for fully-formed panels, or for individual presentations which we will place on a panel:

    • “Advancing the Profession” … we seek proposals which explore and discuss issues in Pre-Law Advisors’ professional development, including but not limited to presenting at conferences, acquiring and honing new advising techniques, credentialing opportunities, and wellness skills.

    • “Leveraging Community” … we seek proposals which discuss strategies and techniques that Pre-Law Advisors can use on their own campuses, including but not limited to making use of institutional resources, and building a cohesive population of engaged pre-law students.

Please be advised that while we are particularly keen on receiving proposals along these lines, we also invite additional proposals which do not necessarily fit into either of these tracks.  So, if you have an idea for a proposal, no matter what it is, please click the link below to be taken to the submission form.

To submit a proposal, please fill out this form no later than the NEW deadline of TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24th, 2026 .  Proposals will be evaluated by the Planning Committee, with final decisions on proposals to be communicated by the end of March.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Steven Lichtman (Shippensburg University), the 2026 NAPLA Conference Chair, at sblichtman@ship.edu.

We look forward to hearing from you!
