Details About Parking At The NAPLA Conference

A map of the area around the George Mason University School of Law is posted under Conference Information. In all cases, parking should be free of charge.

  1. If you are staying overnight at the FDIC Seidman Hotel, you should first register at the FDIC. Individuals should initially park their vehicle under the Atrium directly outside the hotel (1001 N. Monroe Street) and should go to the front desk, where they will "sign in" and be assigned a parking space. In the unlikely event that there aren't sufficient parking spaces at the FDIC, we have reserved 25 overnight spaces at the George Mason University School of Law (entrance on Kirkwood Road). Driving directions to the FDIC can be found at: http://www.fdic.gov/about/guest_services/drivingdirections.html Please note that
    1. The FDIC is located adjacent to the George Mason University School of Law along Fairfax Drive in Arlington, Virginia and
    2. The entrance to the FDIC Seidman Hotel is located on N. Monroe Street.
  2. If you are staying overnight at the Holiday Inn Rosslyn, you should park there and take the Orange Line Metrorail to the George Mason University School of Law (Virginia Square/GMU Metro stop). Please note that this hotel is located one block from the Rosslyn Metro station on the Orange Line. The Rosslyn Metro station is only three stops from the Virginia Square-GMU Metro station. A local map of the area near the Rosslyn Metro Station can be found at: http://stationmasters.com/System_Map/ROSSLYNS/rosslyns.html.

Driving Directions to the Holiday Inn can be found at: http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/direction/waswp
  3. If you are going to be parking at George Mason University School of Law -- either because you are just going for the day or because you are staying at the FDIC and they had insufficient overnight parking -- you will need to identify yourself as being involved with the NAPLA Conference when entering the GMU parking lot. The attendant at the guard station will give you a validation sticker along with a ticket for the lot. The validation sticker will allow you to leave the lot free of charge. Please note that there are several George Mason University campuses in Northern Virginia. Driving directions to the Law School can be found on the George Mason University School of Law's website: http://www.law.gmu.edu/geninfo/directions.html

We look forward to seeing you next week at the conference!

2006 NAPLA Conference Co-Chairs
